Announcement of 2010 Haiku Winning Entries
Japan Airlines and The Japan Foundation, Bangkok organize a Haiku Contest with the aim to provide an opportunity for young elementary school children to express their inner minds in the form of poetic writing. Their keen observation and imagination are put together with their thoughts of themselves or the lives of plants and animals, including the nature around them into delicate and fine Haiku verses. It is short verse form consisting of three lines with a total of 17 syllables of five, seven and five syllables per line respectively.

This year's contest started in March on a nationwide scale under the theme "School", supported by the Office of the Primary Education Commission, the Office of Private Education Commission and the Education Department of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.
